World Day Against Child Labour

Don Bosco Tech, Golaghat, observed the World Day Against Child Labour on 12 June 2026 under the Vocational Integration and Skill Training in Assam (VISTA) Project, with active participation from trainees and staff members. The programme was organized to raise awareness about the harmful impact of child labour and to advocate for every child's right to education, protection, and a dignified childhood.

The observance featured an awareness campaign during which trainees displayed placards carrying messages against child labour and in support of children's rights. Through this initiative, participants highlighted the importance of ensuring that children remain in schools and learning environments rather than being engaged in labour.

The program reinforced the global theme, "Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults," emphasizing the collective responsibility of society to eliminate child labour and promote decent employment opportunities for adults. Staff members encouraged trainees to become advocates for change within their communities by spreading awareness about the importance of education and the protection of children's rights.

The event also reaffirmed Don Bosco Tech's commitment to empowering youth through skill development and creating opportunities for a better future. The program concluded with a collective pledge by trainees and staff members to work towards a society where every child can enjoy a safe, healthy, and educated childhood free from exploitation and child labour. The event concluded with a message"Let us give every child a chance to learn, grow, and dream—because childhood is for education, not labour."
