DB Tech Students Join Himalayan Clean Drive to Spruce Up Darjeeling's Chowrasta–Nightingale Park Stretch

On 5 June 2026, students and teachers from the Hotel Management department took part in a cleanliness drive organized by Himalayan Clean Drive, held along the stretch from Chowrasta to Nightingale Park in Darjeeling. The initiative, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and responsible waste management, saw the students working alongside members of various schools and community organizations to clean public spaces and collect litter from the popular tourist route. During the drive, students were given hands-on training in waste segregation, learning to identify and separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials, and gained a better understanding of how proper disposal contributes to environmental conservation. Beyond the clean-up itself, the event helped foster a sense of teamwork, social responsibility, and community engagement among the participants, many of whom said the experience deepened their appreciation for collective action in maintaining public spaces. Organizers described the drive as a success, noting that it not only left the area cleaner but also encouraged students to become more responsible and environmentally conscious citizens going forward.
