Don Bosco Tech Signs MoU to Promote Green Jobs through Solar PV Skill Development in Delhi

In a focused step towards advancing sustainable livelihoods and strengthening green skilling pathways, Don Bosco Tech Society entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for CSR and Sustainability Excellence (CCSE) in Okhla, New Delhi, on 2 April 2026. The agreement, signed by Mr. Debopam Mukherjee, Trustee, CCSE, and Fr. George Mathew, Executive Director, Don Bosco Tech Society, formalizes the launch of the project “Advancing Green Jobs Through Solar PV Skill Development,” supported by Sungrow India Pvt. Ltd., and reflects a shared commitment to building industry-relevant, future-ready skills among youth.

The initiative will train 30 youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Najafgarh, Delhi, equipping them with industry-aligned competencies in Solar PV Installation and Operations & Maintenance. The program is structured to deliver hands-on technical training integrated with life skills and workplace readiness, preparing participants for the requirements of the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. It responds to the growing demand for skilled solar technicians while expanding access to specialized training for underserved youth.

The program will be implemented over a five-month period from April to August 2026, with a phased approach covering mobilization, training, assessment, and placement support. This approach ensures continuity from training to livelihood outcomes.

With a focus on outcomes, the program builds on Don Bosco Tech Society’s ongoing efforts to align skilling interventions with evolving industry needs and national priorities, particularly in sectors that contribute to environmental sustainability and economic resilience.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, Quality Education (SDG 4), Clean Energy (SDG 7), Decent Work (SDG 8), and Climate Action (SDG 13) -  this collaboration underscores Don Bosco Tech’s commitment to preparing youth not only for employment, but for meaningful participation in a sustainable and changing world.
