A dynamic field visit offering real-world exposure to drone manufacturing and assembly in action.

The trainees of Don Bosco Tech JMJ, Mangalagiri participated in an insightful industrial field visit to the Manaraithu Drone Assembling Unit at Munnangi, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, on 25 October 2025. The visit was organized as part of the Drone Manufacturing and Assembly Technician training program to enhance hands-on learning and industry exposure. The trainees were accompanied by faculty member Mr. Vinay, Mobilizer Mr. Naveen Prakash, and CE & ITES Trainer Ms. Kalpana.

Upon arrival, the team was welcomed by senior drone technician Mr. Bapireddy of Manaraithu Drones, who guided the students through the facility and shared his expertise on the latest advancements in agricultural drone technology. His interaction provided the trainees with a deeper understanding of the complete workflow involved in the creation of drones, from raw materials to final flight testing.

He began by illustrating the process of drone manufacturing, explaining how frames are crafted using strong yet lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and advanced plastics. Students learned how these components are shaped using modern machining techniques like computer-guided milling and 3D printing. The session also introduced them to the internal electronics of drones, including the design of motors, PCB-based control systems, microcontrollers, sensors, and other integral components responsible for drone functionality.

The assembly segment was especially engaging, as Mr. Bapireddy demonstrated each stage in a clear and structured manner. He showed how the drone frame is built, how motors and Electronic Speed Controllers are installed, how the flight controller is wired to the power system, and how propellers, landing gear, and battery mounts are added. This real-time exposure helped trainees understand the technical precision and engineering discipline required in drone assembly.

The most exciting part of the visit was the outdoor live demonstration. Students learned how drones are calibrated, how flight parameters are set, how agricultural drones map fields, and how they perform spraying and real-time monitoring. The trainees watched the drone take flight and observed its control responses, operational efficiency, and navigation systems. The demonstration concluded with an interactive Q&A, where trainees clarified their doubts and received practical insights directly from the industry expert.

This visit provided the trainees with more than just theoretical learning. They experienced the real-world application of drone technology that is transforming modern agriculture, making the visit both educational and inspiring. Mr. Bapireddy appreciated the skill development initiatives of Don Bosco Tech and acknowledged the institute’s role in shaping capable and industry-ready technicians.

The visit ended with a group photograph, capturing a memorable and enriching day of learning. The trainees expressed their sincere gratitude to Don Bosco Tech JMJ, Mangalagiri for providing such valuable industry exposure and continuous guidance in their professional development.
