Impact Assessment Eicher (Royal Enfield)

Impact is best understood not in numbers alone, but in stories, conversations, and lived experiences. On 16 and 17 December 2025, Don Bosco Tech Society witnessed such impact unfold during a two-day Impact Assessment of the Eicher Group Foundation (Royal Enfield) Project, carried out in collaboration with the Sambodhi Impact Assessment Team. These two days offered a powerful reflection on how skill development initiatives translate into real change for youth, families, industry, and institutions.

The first day of the assessment, held on 16 December 2025, focused on understanding the individual journeys of the candidates and the quality of training delivery. Out of the 28 candidates present, 19 underwent detailed individual impact assessments that explored their learning outcomes, confidence levels, and readiness for employment. Each interaction revealed stories of growth—young individuals who had not only acquired technical skills but also developed self-belief and a clearer vision for their future.

Equally important was the evaluation of the trainer, Ms. Shubhangini, whose role in shaping these journeys was closely examined. The assessment highlighted the effectiveness of the training methodology, the clarity of instruction, and the supportive learning environment created within the classroom. Beyond the training center, conversations with parents added another layer of insight. These interactions reflected the broader social and economic influence of the program, with families sharing how skill training had sparked hope, stability, and aspiration at the household level.

The day concluded with a strong sense that the program was doing more than preparing candidates for jobs—it was enabling transformation. The assessment team observed clear improvements in employability, communication, and workplace readiness among the candidates, reinforcing the value of structured, industry-aligned skill development.

The second day, 17 December 2025, shifted the lens outward to engage with key stakeholders who play a critical role in sustaining and scaling impact. A meaningful interaction with the UPSDMS State Officer explored how the program aligns with state-level skill development goals, implementation frameworks, and outcome expectations. The discussion emphasized the importance of collaboration between government bodies and training partners in building pathways to employment for youth.

Employer engagement formed the heart of Day 2. Conversations with Royal Enfield, OneUp Motor, and Simolina Kitchen at Lucknow Airport offered valuable industry perspectives on candidate performance, workplace expectations, and future hiring potential. Employers shared candid feedback on the preparedness of trained candidates, the skills most valued on the job, and the evolving needs of their sectors. These discussions underscored the relevance of the training program and its responsiveness to real-world industry demands.

The presence of managers from each employer organization, alongside Sambodhi consultants and research leads, created a space for open dialogue and shared learning. It became clear that when training partners and employers move in sync, placements become more meaningful and sustainable.

Across both days, the assessment stood out not merely as an evaluation exercise, but as a moment of collective reflection. Government representatives, employers, researchers, trainers, and beneficiaries all contributed to a shared understanding of what works, what can improve, and what the future could hold.

As Don Bosco Tech Society looks ahead, the insights gathered during these two days will inform program strengthening, deeper industry alignment, and enhanced placement outcomes. More importantly, the assessment reaffirmed a simple yet powerful truth: when skills are nurtured with intent and partnerships are built with purpose, impact becomes lasting.

These two days in December will be remembered not just for what was assessed, but for the conversations that inspired progress, the stories that affirmed purpose, and the collective commitment to empowering young lives through skill and opportunity.
