Industrial Exposure Visit Report 

Places visited: Cognizant, Lulu Mall, Munroe Island, Varkala 

Date: March 5 to 7,2026 

As part of the learning and industry exposure initiative, DB Tech Marthandam organized an Industrial Exposure Visit to Cognizant, Kochi from 05 March 2026 to 07 March 2026 for the trainees. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to the corporate working environment and to help trainees understand professional expectations in the IT industry. 

Day 1 – 05 March 2026 

The journey commenced from the DB Tech Marthandam centre at 9.30 PM with the trainees and staff members travelling to Kochi for the exposure visit. 

Day 2 – 06 March 2026 | Kochi 

The team reached Kochi at 6.00 AM and the trainees were given time for refreshment followed by breakfast. Later in the morning, the trainees visited Cognizant for the Industrial Exposure Visit. 

At Cognizant, nearly 30 volunteers from the organization conducted an interactive and informative session for the trainees. The volunteers provided a detailed introduction about the company, its work culture, and the opportunities available in the IT industry. They also explained important professional concepts such as SWOT Analysis and SMART Goals, helping trainees understand how these tools can be applied for personal and career development. 

The volunteers further organized individual mock interviews and resume evaluation sessions. Each trainee received personalized feedback and guidance to improve their communication skills, resume presentation, and interview performance, which proved to be highly beneficial for their future career preparation. 

After lunch, the trainees were taken on a company tour, where they were introduced to several facilities available within the campus. The tour included areas such as the gymnasium, indoor activity spaces, guest rooms, meeting rooms, and the kayaking lake, giving the trainees a clear insight into the corporate infrastructure and employee-friendly work environment. 

The Cognizant team also shared information about their community outreach initiatives, explaining how they collaborate with various NGOs to support communities through different social impact programs. 

As the visit coincided with the Women's Day celebration, the volunteers distributed roses to the lady staff members, making the occasion even more meaningful and memorable for everyone present. 

In the evening, the trainees visited LuLu International Shopping Mall for a short break and recreation before returning for the day. 

Day 3 – 07 March 2026 | Munroe Island 

On the third day, the trainees travelled to Munroe Island, where they experienced adventure activities and enjoyed the scenic beauty of the location. Later, the group visited Varkala for lunch and spent some time at the beach. 

In the afternoon, The return journey began at 7.00 PM, and the team reached the centre safely at 9.30 PM. 

Conclusion 

The Industrial Exposure Visit was highly informative, engaging, and beneficial for the trainees. It provided them with valuable insights into the corporate environment, professional skills, and career development strategies. The visit helped trainees gain confidence, improve their interview readiness, and understand the expectations of the industry. Overall, the exposure visit was a successful and enriching experience for all participants.
